Hi, I'm Kui Cai.

I am a strategic designer that creates insight driven innovation and desirable experiences through an empathetic design process.

Prior to my stay in the U.S., I spent over seven years working in the sports footwear industry in PEAK Beijing R&D center and IDX Shanghai. The first three years I was a senior footwear designer for PEAK. I had the opportunity to conduct design for world-class athletes such as NBA star Jason Kidd, Shane Battier, and Sasha Vujacic. Over the next four years, my role shifted to a product manager position where I established and managed a product planning department, traveled the world, and experienced different cultures.

In 2015, I joined ArtCenter’s Graduate Industrial Design, a dual degree program in conjunction with Claremont University’s M.B.A. program.

Creating value through the design process is what deeply excites me. My specialty in the sports industry and interdisciplinary background in human-centered design, market analysis, and strategic planning allows me to bring a new perspective to the projects I work on.
