Nest Air Free was a project developed in 2016, which started with the idea of using smart product to help the issues of air pollution .
Clean and fresh air is essential to a good living. However, According to the Environment Protection Agency, the air we breathe indoors can be five times more polluted than the outside air. As our air quality continues to worsen, the adoption of air purifiers at home and work places has been accelerating rapidly. Home appliances are getting smart and so are air purifiers.
Nest, a pioneer of home automation, sees opportunities in this rapidly growing market and is interested in the possibility of extending their product line.
The goal of this project is to develop a design proposal for next generation smart air purifier for NEST in 14 weeks.
Your phone is your remote. You can use it to turn your Air Free on, off, and switch modes. Air Free also allows you to monitor home air quality from your phone at any time. Create schedules, switch to Night mode, and more. Nest products are made to work together. They can even work with the nest thermostats, smoke detector and other products in your home.
Nest products are made to work together. Air Free can work with Nest smoke detectors and other products in your home. If your Nest smoke detectors senses smoke or carbon monoxide, Nest Air Free will automatically drive to that area and start to clean the air.
The 360° cylindrical filter takes in air from every direction more efficiently.
The Primary filter will filtrate dust, hair and other larger floating particles. Activated carbon filter removes formaldehyde, odor and smoke. EPA filter traps PM 2.5, PM0.3, pollen and other particles.
